Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Hit Trip app (the “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Szymon Motłoch (the “Service Provider”). The Application is intended for use “AS IS”.
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not require you to create an account, nor does it collect personally identifiable information such as your name or email address. The Application does not use tracking analytics.
However, when you use the Application, standard device information required to communicate with our backend and third-party services is transmitted. Our backend servers automatically record standard log data for security, debugging, and operational purposes. This log data may include:
- Your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address
- Basic device and app information necessary for API requests
- The contents of your requests (such as travel destinations and preferences) sent to our backend to generate AI trips
The Application does not request or collect precise GPS location permissions. However, depending on how you use the Application, you may provide location-related information indirectly (e.g., by searching for places or selecting locations).
Information You Provide
For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may process information you provide such as:
- Travel targets/destinations you enter or select
- Trip duration
- Travel preferences
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Some features use AI processing performed on the Service Provider’s backend servers. For these features, the Application sends feature inputs (such as travel targets, duration, and preferences) to the backend to generate results.
The Service Provider uses LLM models via OpenAI’s API (GPT models) and Google Gemini models to process certain AI requests. When AI features are used, relevant feature inputs may be transmitted from the backend to OpenAI and Google Gemini to produce an AI-generated response.
Third-Party Services
The Application uses third-party services to provide specific functionality. These third parties may process information (such as IP address, request metadata, and user-provided search terms) to deliver results.
Google Places SDK (Google Maps Platform)
The Application uses the Google Places SDK to provide place search and related functionality. When you use these features, requests (which can include your search query, IP address and device/request metadata) are processed by Google in accordance with Google’s policies.
Photon API (provided by komoot)
The Application uses the Photon API (provided by komoot) to provide place and cities search. When you use these features, requests (which can include your search query, IP address and device/request metadata) are processed by komoot in accordance with their policies.
OpenAI (GPT models)
OpenAI processes data submitted via the API under its own terms and privacy practices. OpenAI may retain API inputs/outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring and service operation, unless otherwise configured or required by law.
Google Gemini API
Google Gemini processes data submitted via the API under its own terms and privacy practices. Google Gemini may retain API inputs/outputs for a limited period for abuse monitoring and service operation, unless otherwise configured or required by law.
Third Party Access
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process
- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
- with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Data Retention and Deletion Policy
Data retention is handled in two ways, depending on where the data is stored:
- Local App Data: The saved trips you generate are stored locally on your device. You have full control over this data and can delete any of your saved trips at any time directly within the Application's interface. You can also wipe all locally stored data by clearing the Application's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the Application.
- Server Logs: Data sent to our backend servers (such as IP addresses and API request payloads) is temporarily stored in server logs. This is necessary to monitor server performance, troubleshoot bugs, and prevent abuse. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted.
If you have any questions about how your data is handled, please contact the Service Provider at szymot97@o2.pl.
Children's Privacy
The Application is rated PEGI 3, which means its content is suitable for a general audience. However, PEGI is a content classification and does not determine the age at which a user may consent to the processing of personal data.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from children where parental or guardian consent is required under applicable law.
If the Service Provider learns that personal data has been provided by a child without the required consent of a parent or legal guardian, the Service Provider will delete that information as soon as reasonably possible.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child has provided personal data through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at szymot97@o2.pl.
Where consent is used as the legal basis for processing, and the user is below the age at which they can provide valid consent under applicable law, such consent must be given or authorized by the holder of parental responsibility.
European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for temporarily processing your IP address is our legitimate interest in maintaining server security, and our legal basis for processing your travel preferences is to perform the service you requested. While the Application does not require an account or collect personal identifiers, regarding any temporary data processed (such as IP addresses in server logs), you have the right to:
- Request access to the data processed about you.
- Request rectification or erasure of your data.
- Object to or request restriction of our processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about our legal basis for processing your temporary connection data, please contact the Service Provider at szymot97@o2.pl.
Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. All data transmitted between the Application and our backend servers, as well as third-party APIs, is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
Effective date: 2026-01-28

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
